Mark is spending time with his mom this morning before traveling to Franklin, Tennessee for a marriage conference. In the meantime please enjoy this ‘best of show’ and we will be LIVE again tomorrow morning.
Mark and Debbie start off today’s show with an article by Chuck Colson on what is really being taught in sex-ed classes. They give advice to a man who is trying to help other men in their failing marriages and they answer an email from a step-mom who has “selfish and self-absorbed” step-daughters. Mark helps a listener asking for advice to guide a family member who committed adultery and is still having trouble in the marriage. The final email today elicits this from Mark: “If you walk into hell, you can’t complain it’s hot!” Find out what sparks that comment!

Awesome show. I had an “aha” moment of inspiration where Mark clearly said that the guy had an affair, and a year and a half later his wife is still having problems with trusting him. I had heard Mark say many times, “How do you unscramble eggs?” And I (looking at the “eggs” or the mess), really wondered, because I am a merciful guy. But on this program said that God didn’t make marriage messes caused by infidelity, substance abuse, porn, etc to be easily unscrambled because then everyone would want to do what they please, and then apply the magic formula to clean up the mess, and restore trust. I finally got the picture that God wants to give us an incentive to depend on God, and do the work (Ps 127) it takes to establish and maintain a good (not perfect, fairy land) marriage, rather than look at and try to fix the mess and wreckage that exists then marriages get into serious trouble. Brilliant, simply brilliant.
