Hello. Just sharing my opinions. After 6 mins Mark is fascinated over opposites like an oppressor-type and victim-type gravitating to eachother. I have two opinions… Generally I think opposites attract because each person retains their uniqueness for sake of self-expression fulfillment. People are bored with someone like themselves because of predictability. As spoken after 9 mins into the show, the ‘mystery factor’ attracts people. Besides, who wants their faults constantly pointed out by people just like us? My other view is that human nature seeks its own redemption. How? Through ourselves, unconsciously shaping our circumstances to bring unresolved heart issues to light so we can identify them consciously, to finally confront and heal them through repentance and forgiveness. We have been both offenders and victims, we have created traumas and received them. People unwittingly gravitate to bad relationships, and unconsciously create what would otherwise be undesirable circumstances against even the most basic wisdom… all because its human nature to shape our life experiences according to our heart’s cry for complete redemption. I hope that made sense.

I agree romance novels are not appropriate to read, but Nicholas Sparks novels are very innocent and as far as I know do not have sex scenes as Mark referred to. However, I’ve only read one Sparks novel, but I can assure you it was no harlequin romance novel.
