Mark and Debbie address what the bible says about helping divorced women and answer the question, are all sins equal in God’s eyes? Other e-mails look for help dealing with a husband that has some serious addictions, and what do when your husband’s mistress gets pregnant. A sister e-mails about her lazy brother-in-law that driving her sister into financial ruin and a mother is concerned about her sad son that thinks God told him his Christian girlfriend is not the ‘one.’

Just listened to your discussion about my son’s situation. I agree with Mark that we shouldn’t just sit around waiting for God to plop our spouse down in from of us. I encouraged him to move forward and continue praying, but as far as scripture they are equally yoked and I believe God usually brings things like this to both of the people involved. It also crossed my mind as Debbie said that God may know some other reason (death) they may not be together, but again I feel they should move forward with the relationship. BTW, I/we haven’t put any pressure on him as to him marrying her. Would I be blessed and pleased to have her as my daughter-in-law, yes. But I definitely want this to be their decision. He had come in from a meeting with our pastor and they had spoken and my son said he felt God had told him this before, no real specifics.
Anyways, I talked with him a few days after and he was at peace and resolved that maybe his purpose for reading the word and praying everyday was more for her than for really getting to know God. She is more his love than God.
Thank you both for your input and discussion. I am very thankful he is seeking God for whatever reason because I know God can use it!! And he was able to touch a nerve:)
