THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU ... for connecting the principles of conflict resolution between believers in Matthew 18 with submission in marriage. I thought I understood the Bible's teaching on submission (or at least the version of submission commonly taught in churches today), and I tried to follow it in my own marraige, but it never seemed to work. Instead, my unconditional submission only allowed my husband to continue in his own sin! Bringing Matthew 18 into the context of marriage is the "missing link" that makes submission work. There are limits to submission, and I am not required to submit to sin! In fact, the Bible requires me to confront sin! I only wish someone had made this connection for me years ago. My marriage would be healthier, and my husband would be more spiritually mature.
